Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Contracts Analyst to manage design/construction contracts for campus energy projects, including chilled water, hot water, steam, and power networks.

The role is based at the Georgetown University campus and collaborates with the Contracts Team in Houston, Columbus, and Iowa City. The position drives RFPs, analyzes bids, prepares contract packages, and supports performance, change orders, and claims.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in contract development and/or contract administration, including procurement procedures.
  • Experience with project execution and project related tax, finance, insurance and legal issues.
  • Background in construction contract development, contract management or project execution.
  • Experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management.
  • Background in energy systems development and/or construction with public, industrial, or commercial customers will be considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently at a fast pace and with accuracy.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and work independently as well as being a great team player.

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect

As the Senior Contracts Analyst you will be responsible for managing and administering contracts, specifically for design and construction, related to capital improvement projects for campus energy distribution systems. These systems encompass the infrastructure for the production and distribution of chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the electricity and natural gas networks.

This role is a part of ENGIE's Contracting Team and is based at the Georgetown University campus. The Senior Contracts Analyst will also liaise and share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices with other members of the Contracts Team in Houston, TX, Columbus, OH, and Iowa City, IA.

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • Drive the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, working closely with Project Managers to develop solicitation documentation, including scopes of work and pricing templates, using standard forms or creating new templates as needed
  • Analyze proposals for awards to identify potential risks and works with bidders to mitigate them
  • Prepare final contract and associated award documentation in compliance with procurement policies, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Provide support during the execution of contracts working closely with Project Managers to monitor contract performance, ensure invoice compliance, and timely address any issues that arise
  • Review Change Order requests with Project Managers and prepares final Change Order packages for signatures
  • Provide support, strategy, and resolution on contractual claims and disputes, liaising and keeping informed all Project Stakeholders
  • Maintain a structured and documented record of all communications, notices, legal records, including lien waivers, bonds, claims, etc.
  • May also support the procurement process of services and materials for successful completion of the capital project
  • Build and maintains relationships with construction contractors, qualified equipment vendors, suppliers, and design/engineering firms.
  • Prepare project close-out documentation including substantial completion and final completion
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and developing improved contracting procedures and best practices
  • Establish and maintains effective working relationships with University staff
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in contract development and/or contract administration, including an understanding of procurement procedures

Additional Details
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time

Compensation

Salary Range: $88,800 - $136,045 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
