Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to monitor and troubleshoot plant systems in a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing setting. You will respond to alarms, emergencies, and equipment start/stop tasks, applying electrical and mechanical knowledge with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes reading schematics, following safety rules, and maintaining reliable operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge of lubrication, pneumatics, piping/plumbing repair, HVAC fundamentals, belt replacement, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond and troubleshoot alarms including temperature, humidity, air/water pressures, and water levels.
• Respond to emergencies such as water leaks and power issues.
• Start/stop equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, exhaust fans, and generators.
• Solve complex problems with little supervision and monitor plantwide systems.
• Understand when an issue is occurring and know how to resolve it.

Day-to-Day

• Respond and troubleshoot various types of alarms including, Temperature, humidity, air/water pressures, and water levels etc.
• Respond to emergencies such as water leaks and power issues.
• Starting/Stopping equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, exhaust fans, and generators.
• You will be able to solve complex problems with little supervision, allowing you to make decisions on how and when a project is completed Monitor and maintain plantwide systems.
• Understand when an issue is occurring knowing how to resolve it.

Minimum Requirements

• Electrical and mechanical experience is a must, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge or experience in lubrication, pneumatics, piping/plumbing repair, HVAC fundamentals, belt replacement, electrical schematics or troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Possess a valid US driver’s license to operate motor vehicles
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with consistency to lift 25 lbs
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
• Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists, standing or walking over hard concrete surface
• Ability to wear fall protection if required
• Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equilvant
• This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
