Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Newport News to oversee ongoing projects, coordinate between project management and planning teams, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of critical naval shipbuilding programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of exempt experience (or a Master’s with 4 years) and offers a comprehensive benefits package in a dynamic defense industry environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience.
• Equivalents: Associate's Degree or other 2-year program with 2 years relevant exempt experience or 4 years relevant non-exempt experience; Military Paygrade E-5 or above.
• High School/GED with 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt/non-exempt experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects; liaises between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports; develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
