What will you be doing?
Position Overview:
The Project Management Analyst II applies standard project management analysis to projects of moderate scope and complexity. This is a hybrid position based in Oakland, California, requiring onsite presence as needed. The analyst receives general guidance on new assignments, with work progress reviewed periodically and upon completion. Less than 10% travel to project and construction sites may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Work on projects of moderate scope and complexity, applying standard project management analysis and methodology.
- Support project planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting activities across the assigned portfolio.
- Maintain and update project and portfolio data in SAP and Planisware, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Build, maintain, and analyze project financials, including budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentation materials using advanced Excel functionality.
- Monitor project risks and issues, support risk management activities, and escalte items requiring leadership attention.
- Partner with project managers, finance, and functional stakeholders to gather requirements and validate data.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, identifying schedule or cost disparities and recommending corrective action.
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc analyses summarizing project performance for management review.
- Coordinate documentation, meeting materials, and follow‑up actions for project and portfolio reviews.
- Support process improvement efforts related to project management standards, tools, and reporting.
- Work effectively within a matrix environment, collaborating across multiple business and technical teams.
- Travel to project or construction sites as needed (less than 10%).
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- BA/BS in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant project management analysis experience, specifically IT.
- Advanced Excel knowledge, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to work in an office environment and travel to project or construction sites as needed (less than 10%).
- Hands‑on experience with SAP.
- Hands‑on experience with Planisware.
- Experience supporting capital or construction project portfolios.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks and standards (e.g., PMI/PMBOK).
