Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc., seeks a capable Project Manager to oversee operational aspects of ongoing programs in Mississippi. You will coordinate between project management, planning, and line management to keep schedules on track and drive client satisfaction.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience or a master’s degree with 1 year, plus strong Excel and multi-project management skills.

The Role

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Must Have

Bachelors degree and 3 years of experience

Masters degree or above and 1 year of experience

Nice to Have

Preferred qualifications include superior Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with peers, various levels of management, and the Customer. Demonstrated proficiency in developing PowerPoint presentations for senior management is preferred, as well as strong project management capabilities. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in shipbuilding is required. Additional preferred qualities include experience with LPD construction, weekly deliverables, IFS, and construction processes.
