Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. Ingalls Shipbuilding division seeks a production planner to plan, prepare, issue and control schedules ensuring timely availability of materials for shipbuilding.

The role requires coordinating with departments to support production requirements and resolve potential issues. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience.
• Internal candidates must have 18 months as a Surveyor-Outside (P) or 1st Class Journeyman.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules to meet production requirements.
• Advise management on work in progress, material availability and potential production problems.
• Schedule equipment and personnel; prepare work orders or purchase requests based on a master production schedule.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control and traffic; expedite movement of parts.

The Role

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

Must Have

High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' experience.
