KellyMitchell Group is seeking a Project Leader III to support its AI Risk Governance team within Enterprise Risk Management in New York City. This hands-on role blends program coordination with ownership of governance deliverables, partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams to scale AI governance processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in governance, risk, or compliance, experience in financial services or regulated industries, and strong executive communication skills.

Job Summary

Our client, a financial services provider, is seeking a Project Leader III to support its AI Risk Governance team within Enterprise Risk Management. This hands‑on, execution‑focused role combines program coordination with direct ownership of critical governance deliverables. The ideal candidate has experience supporting governance, risk, or compliance programs and can effectively operate within a fast‑paced environment while helping strengthen and scale AI governance processes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders on enterprise‑wide AI governance initiatives.

Contract Details

Contract opportunity with potential for extension. Location: New York City. Work Model: Hybrid.

Core Responsibilities

• Support AI governance review processes and lifecycle workflows
• Coordinate governance and working group meetings, including agendas, pre‑read materials, briefing documents, and action item follow‑up
• Serve as a liaison across governance functions to facilitate communication and execution
• Track action items, escalations, milestones, and program commitments
• Prepare status updates and executive‑level materials for leadership and committee audiences
• Review and maintain governance documentation, including policies, procedures, standards, and templates
• Develop and manage project plans while driving roadmap deliverables to completion
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to execute governance initiatives
• Draft governance communications, stakeholder notifications, training materials, and reference guides
• Support continuous improvement efforts across the AI governance program

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• 5+ years of experience in governance, risk, compliance, or related functions
• Experience working within financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries
• Strong project coordination and program execution capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver work products
• Excellent written communication skills with experience creating executive‑facing materials
• Working knowledge of AI governance concepts, responsible AI principles, and use case risk assessments
• Ability to balance strategic coordination with hands‑on execution
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
• Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience supporting AI governance, model risk management, or enterprise risk programs
• Familiarity with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) or similar governance frameworks
• Experience supporting executive committees or governance boards
• PMP, AIGP, or similar professional certifications
• Experience developing governance communications and committee materials

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $60.00 and $86.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
