Job summary

Brooksource seeks an AI Governance Analyst to support enterprise AI governance in a large organization. You will evaluate AI-enabled technologies, identify risks, and ensure alignment with governance, compliance, and security standards.

The role emphasizes translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders and contributing to governance playbooks and methods. Hybrid work with on-site days in Charlotte, NC is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience or working knowledge in AI governance, data governance, or risk/compliance disciplines.
• Exposure to AI-enabled technologies and enterprise risk considerations.

• Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Cybersecurity or IT teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (preferred).

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking an AI Governance Analyst to support a growing enterprise AI governance function within a large, complex organization. This is a functional and consultative role focused on evaluating new and existing technologies with AI capabilities, identifying potential risks, and ensuring AI solutions align with organizational governance, compliance, legal, and technology standards.

The ideal candidate is comfortable learning how applications and AI-enabled technologies work, asking the right questions to understand their use and associated risks, and translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will contribute to the continued development and operationalization of enterprise AI governance practices as AI adoption expands across the organization. This opportunity offers exposure to a wide variety of emerging AI use cases and the chance to shape responsible AI adoption within a complex enterprise environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Evaluate applications and technology solutions that incorporate AI capabilities to understand their use, data considerations, and potential risks.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Risk, Architecture, Data, IT, and business stakeholders to support responsible AI adoption.
• Translate complex AI and technology concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
• Help translate governance policies, standards, and frameworks into actionable business practices.
• Support the development and maturation of AI governance processes, playbooks, standards, and enablement materials.
• Participate in discussions surrounding emerging AI capabilities, including generative AI and agentic AI.
• Help assess how AI-enabled technologies align with organizational policies, compliance requirements, and governance expectations.
• Work with technical teams to understand applications, data usage, and technology implementations when evaluating AI-related risk.
• Identify opportunities to improve governance processes as AI adoption and capabilities continue to evolve.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience or working knowledge in AI governance, responsible AI, data governance, technology risk, compliance, cybersecurity, data privacy, enterprise architecture, or related technology governance disciplines.
• Exposure to AI or AI-enabled technologies and an understanding of the risks and considerations associated with their use in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholder groups such as Legal, Compliance, Risk, Cybersecurity, Data, Architecture, IT, or business teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn as AI technologies, regulations, and governance practices continue to evolve.
• Ability to take ownership of initiatives and drive work through completion.
• Experience supporting governance, risk, compliance, or technology initiatives within a large or regulated organization (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks or responsible AI practices, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) (preferred).
• Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification (preferred).
• Technical experience or familiarity with SQL, data, software applications, SDLC, cloud technologies, or application security (preferred).
• Experience developing governance guidance, playbooks, policies, controls, or enablement materials (preferred).
