Job summary

National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine seeks an Associate Program Officer (APO) to lead projects in mathematics, statistics, chemistry, materials science, energy tech and policy, defense capabilities, and more. The APO will contribute to program strategy, budgets, schedules, and deliverables within the PSSI area.

Working in CAST, the APO collaborates with experts, committees, and sponsors, coordinating meetings, research, and publication-ready products while ensuring deadlines

Qualifications

• Knowledge of scientific, technical, or policy issues across mathematical/physical sciences and engineering.
• Ability to solve varied and complex problems with originality and judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned projects, develop strategies, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans; ensure objectives are achieved.
• Identify and recruit committee nominees; organize workshops and convenings; manage logistics.
