Job summary

Spencer Ogden in Seattle seeks an experienced Project Geologist or Environmental Scientist to support environmental investigation and remediation projects across the Pacific Northwest, with a strong focus on federal and DoD clients, including NAVFAC Northwest.

The role requires 7–12 years in environmental consulting or remediation, a Bachelor's in Geology or Environmental Science, and willingness to travel within WA and AK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• 7–12 years of environmental consulting or remediation experience.
• Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, USTs, site investigation or remediation.
• Strong groundwater and soil investigation background.
• Experience with regulatory environmental reports and documentation.
• Federal, DoD, NAVFAC, or USACE experience desirable.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
• Washington Licensed Geologist preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support CERCLA, RCRA, UST, and environmental restoration projects
• Prepare and contribute to technical documents including Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigations, RI/FS reports, work plans, monitoring reports, and remedial action documentation
• Conduct and oversee soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and soil-gas investigations
• Coordinate drilling, monitoring well installation, sampling, and subcontractor activities
• Evaluate environmental data and support site characterization, conceptual site models, and remedial decision-making
• Support remediation system installation, operation, monitoring, and optimization
• Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Support periodic field travel throughout Washington and Alaska

Location & Compensation

• Seattle, Washington
• Hybrid working model, generally 3 days in office / up to 2 days remote
• Some flexibility may be available for candidates elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest
• $115,000–$145,000 base salary + benefits
• Periodic travel to project sites in Washington and Alaska
