Job summary

RK Mechanical is seeking a Project Foreman – HVAC to lead commercial HVAC field teams in Phoenix, AZ. You’ll supervise crews, coordinate resources, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time installation of HVAC systems.

You’ll review drawings, plan manpower, and work with Project Managers and trade partners to keep projects moving. A strong foreman with 5+ years in HVAC and 3+ years in leadership is ideal.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC construction experience with 3+ years as foreman or lead.
• Journeyman-level HVAC, Sheet Metal, Mechanical, or related trade experience.
• Experience leading crews of 5-20+ field personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC field crews and coordinate daily work activities to maintain safety, productivity, quality, and schedule commitments.
• Assign manpower, mentor apprentices, and support workforce development.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to plan and execute work effectively.
• Oversee layout, installation, and commissioning support for HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners.
• Forecast labor, material, tool, and equipment needs while supporting project schedules and look-ahead planning.
• Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.
• Conduct inspections, quality reviews, toolbox talks, and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
• Complete daily reports, manpower tracking, timecards, and project documentation.
• Support project turnover and closeout activities.

At RK Mechanical, you’ll lead commercial mechanical construction projects from the field, partnering with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, and trade partners to drive project success. You’ll oversee manpower, planning, material coordination, safety, quality, and day-to-day execution while helping develop the next generation of skilled craft professionals.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC construction experience with 3+ years as foreman or lead
• Journeyman-level HVAC, Sheet Metal, Mechanical, or related trade experience.
• Experience as a Foreman, Lead Foreman, Project Foreman, General Foreman, or similar field leadership role.
• Experience leading crews of 5-20+ field personnel.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment, including ductwork, RTUs, AHUs, VAV systems, exhaust systems, and mechanical equipment installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents.
• Experience with manpower planning, material takeoffs, ordering, scheduling, and project coordination.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms preferred.

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Work indoors and outdoors, including dusty, noisy, and active construction environments.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in other challenging job-site conditions.
• Climb, balance, squat, kneel, crouch, and perform other physically demanding construction activities.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Maintain working knowledge of HVAC trade tools, equipment, materials, and safe work practices.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally, 45 pounds frequently, and 22 pounds continuously.
