Summary

The Project Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial oversight, analysis, and reporting for client projects delivered by CellCarta. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial health, margin performance, scope adherence, and cost controls across the ICPC project portfolio. The analyst will collaborate with ICPC Project Managers, Finance stakeholders, Operations Leads, and senior leadership to optimize project profitability and the overall financial and operational health of CellCarta studies.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
   • Identify and execute scope amendments on active studies to maximize value creation;
   • Monitor project financial performance, risks, and variances to margins;
   • Conduct variance analyses using project data such as scopes, pricing, change orders, invoices, and financial reports;
   • Prepare analysis summaries for Project Managers and senior leadership;
   • Participate in final study reconciliation and forecasting updates.
2. Project Cost Oversight:
   • Assist Project Managers in managing direct costs to ensure project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget;
   • Participate in monthly performance reviews and revenue forecasting;
   • Identify scope creep and support change order development.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Decision Support:
   • Partner with Project Managers to analyze margin leakage and define corrective actions;
   • Present financial insights to leadership and operational teams;
   • Develop financial models to aid in project decision-making.
4. Qualifications & Skills
   • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA or CPA preferred;
   • 3-5 years of project-based financial analysis experience, preferably in life sciences or healthcare industries;
   • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics), project management tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI);
   • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling and macros;
   • Knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and variance analysis.
5. Soft Skills
   • Strong collaboration and communication skills in fast-paced, matrix organizations;
   • Ability to synthesize financial data from multiple sources;
   • Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skills;
   • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French;
   • High attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
