Job summary

TEI Construction Services Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Project/Financial Analyst to join the finance team. You will support project execution and financial oversight across diverse U.S.

projects, driving consistency and profitability. The role involves tracking costs, hours, forecasts, and percent-complete metrics, and preparing billing and GL reconciliations. You will communicate complex data to field teams and management, assess project risks, and provide data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of work experience in finance analytics or project accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze project costs, labor hours, forecasts, and percent-complete metrics to ensure financial accuracy and performance.
  • Prepare project-related billing and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Support project bonding requirements and maintain accurate financial documentation.
  • Perform month-end project reconciliations, accruals, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with finance, field, and project leadership to align financial goals with execution strategies.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

At TEi Construction Services, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Project/Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. You’ll play a critical role in supporting project execution and financial oversight, driving consistency across our operations, and helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects across the U.S., offering you exposure to high-impact work and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Financial Management
  • Monitor and analyze project costs, labor hours, forecasts (ETC), and percent-complete metrics to ensure financial accuracy and performance.
  • Prepare project-related billing and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed.
  • Support project bonding requirements and maintain accurate financial documentation.
  • Perform month-end project reconciliations, accruals, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Critical Thinking
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of project financials and workflows, benchmarking against best practices to identify areas for improvement.
  • Interpret and communicate complex data sets—such as project cost trends, profitability, AP/AR balances, and schedule performance to both field teams and management.
  • Evaluate project risks and provide data-driven recommendations.
Project Execution
  • Ensure compliance with established business processes and financial procedures across all project phases.
  • Maintain organized digital records and project documentation.
  • Provide day-to-day support to project teams—including project setup, forecasting, troubleshooting time collection issues (e.g., InEight), performance tracking, and project closeout activities.
Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with finance, field, and project leadership teams to align financial goals with execution strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients on project costs, invoicing, and progress metrics.
  • Remain flexible and available for limited travel to project sites across the U.S., often with short notice.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1 + years of work experience in finance analytics, project accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Skills:
  • Work experience in the construction industry

  • Experience with PowerBI, Costpoint, InEight, Microsoft Dynamics

  • Certified Public Accountant of similar certification
