Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Project Finance Coordinator in its Accounting department to manage project expenses, billings, budgets, and month end close activities, ensuring costs align with contracts and US GAAP. You will work with project managers and finance leaders to forecast and resolve billing issues.

The role requires 1–2 years in accounting or finance, proficiency in Excel, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 1–2 years in accounting, preferably in a project-based environment.
• Basic accounting principles, US GAAP.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee how projects earn revenue in the accounting system and provide monthly project earnings analysis.
• Analyzes project cost reports and meets frequently with the Director of Finance and Project Managers to review status of projects for invoicing, profitability, earnings, costs, and cash flow.
• Prepare and execute budgets for each project assigned.
• Reconcile invoices to clients, vendors, or contractors.
• Sets up and maintains projects in the accounting system according to contract terms.
• Maintain an organized accounting system with several accounts while staying compliant with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Review contracts including amendments and agreements.
• Serve as a liaison between Project Managers, Project Accountants, Leadership and the accounting team to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor system for payments, purchase orders, invoices, and statements and follows up where necessary.
• Assist with annual business plan.
• Works independently to research and resolve financial issues.
• Provide recommendations or commentary as needed.
