Job summary

Flowtec Construction in Chicago seeks a senior Project Executive to lead complex projects from planning through closeout, coordinating owners, designers, contractors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in commercial construction, CM, design-build or related AEC field.
• Experience leading complex, high-value projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Strong understanding of project financials, contracts, scheduling, procurement and risk management.
• Proven track record working directly with owners and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with multidisciplinary project teams preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

I’m currently working with a highly established, multidisciplinary AEC firm that is looking to add a Project Executive to its Chicago team.

This is a unique opportunity to join an organization that brings architecture, engineering, interiors, construction, and design-build capabilities under one roof. With a long history in Chicago and a diverse portfolio across commercial, hospitality, industrial, logistics, civic, residential, and other complex projects, the firm takes a highly integrated approach to project delivery.

The Project Executive will play a key leadership role overseeing complex projects and working directly with owners, design teams, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.

This person will have the opportunity to be involved in projects from preconstruction and planning through execution, commissioning, and closeout, while helping drive client relationships, project strategy, financial performance, schedule, and overall delivery.

The company has a significant history in hospitality and adaptive-reuse projects, including the transformation of existing Chicago office buildings into major hotel developments such as the Conrad Chicago and La Quinta Inn & Suites.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level leadership throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversee project strategy, execution, schedule, budget, and financial performance
• Serve as a primary point of contact for owners and key project stakeholders
• Lead coordination between architecture, engineering, construction, and project management teams
• Provide oversight of preconstruction, estimating, procurement, scheduling, and construction activities
• Identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and design partners
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers and project teams

Ideal Background

• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, construction management, design-build, or a related AEC environment

• Experience working directly with owners and senior-level stakeholders
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
