Novax Recruitment Group partners with a Northern Virginia structural steel fabricator to recruit a seasoned Project Executive. This senior role oversees multiple fabrication and erection projects, shaping strategy and delivering results across the portfolio.

The successful candidate will mentor Project Managers, manage budgets and forecasts, and drive commercial performance while collaborating with fabrication, detailing, procurement and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level oversight across a portfolio of structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete, profitability and commercial risk.
• Coordinate with fabrication, detailing, procurement and field operations to ensure successful delivery.
• Support complex contract negotiations, change orders and disputes.
• Identify risks early and implement recovery strategies.
• Build relationships with general contractors, clients and subcontractors.
• Improve project management processes, reporting standards and operational efficiency.
• Support senior leadership in resource planning and strategic decisions.

Salary: Up to $200,000 Base + Benefits

Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000

The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing structural steel fabricator and erector in Northern Virginia that is looking to appoint an experienced Project Executive to strengthen its senior leadership team.

With a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial and data center projects, the business is expanding its operations and investing in the leadership structure needed to support continued growth.

This is an opportunity for an experienced structural steel professional to step into a senior position, overseeing multiple projects, developing Project Managers and driving commercial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level oversight across a portfolio of structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.
• Oversee project budgets, financial forecasting, cost-to-complete, profitability and commercial risk.
• Work closely with fabrication, detailing, procurement and field operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support complex contract negotiations, change orders and commercial disputes.
• Identify project risks early and implement effective recovery strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, clients and subcontractors.
• Improve project management processes, reporting standards and operational efficiency.
• Support senior leadership in resource planning, strategic decisions and continued business growth.

What We're Looking For

• Ideally 15+ years of experience in structural steel construction, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
• Significant project management experience within structural steel fabrication and/or erection.
• Proven experience overseeing multiple projects, with responsibility for commercial and operational performance.
• Experience managing Project Managers or providing senior leadership across multiple project teams.
• Strong understanding of structural steel detailing, fabrication, logistics and field erection.
• Demonstrated financial management experience, including budgets, forecasting, margins and change orders.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work regularly with teams and operations across Northern Virginia.

Highly Desirable:

• Data center or mission-critical construction experience.
• Background in miscellaneous metals.
• Experience with union erection operations.
• Previous experience as a Project Executive, Project Director, Director of Project Management or senior operational leader.
