Job summary

Yates Construction seeks a Project Executive - Data Center to provide leadership for project performance, budget, schedule and trade partner management. The role will oversee safety and quality compliance and act as the primary contact for clients.

The incumbent will lead contract negotiations, manage a project team, develop budgets and schedules, and travel to job sites as required to ensure project profitability and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Construction Management or Engineering with 15+ years GC experience.
• Multiple datacenter project experience ($100M+) is required.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with senior management and clients.
• Proven track record of motivating project team to exceed project goals.
• Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with the Owner.
• Self-motivated and self-confident.
• Ability to recruit and build a project team.

Responsibilities

• Project Acquisition and using industry contacts to generate leads.
• Participate in RFP process and Contract negotiations as needed.
• Pre-Construction / Project Start-up; develop budgets and schedules with Pre-Con team.
• Assemble project team and lead Turnover between Pre-Con and Project Team.
• Monitor contract compliance and project profitability; manage financials and forecasts.
• Champion project safety program and client management; attend owner and project meetings.

Job Summary

This position will provide overall leadership for project performance, contract negotiations, client relations, budget, schedule, and trade partner management. The Project Executive will also lead and maintain compliance with corporate safety and quality standards and will serve as the direct point of contact for clients.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Construction Management or Engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of GC experience.
• Multiple medium to large datacenter project experience ($100M+) is required

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the judgment to know when to escape issues up the chain of command
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task
• Strong working knowledge of contract terms and legal provisions that impact project profitability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and clients
• A proven track record of motivating project team to exceed project goals

Primary Duties

• Project Acquisition
• Using industry contacts to generate leads

• Assemble project Team
• Lead Turnover Meeting between Pre-Con and Project Team.
• Project Operations
• Thoroughly understand contract and ensure project team understands and is compliant
• Visit project site regularly to monitor performance
• Monitor and evaluate performance of project team
• Full understanding of Accounts Receivable, Financial Forecasting and P&L for project
• Assist project staff with Baseline Schedule development
• Assist project team Lean/Last Planner processes
• Champion project safety program and performance
• Client Management
• Attend owner and project meetings, maintain continuous client communication?
