Job summary

Harris seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to provide high-level oversight, lead PM teams, and manage project finances. You will set objectives, develop client relationships, and guide risk and change management to ensure profitability.

You will be responsible for safety compliance, pre-construction activities, and mentoring a collaborative team while coordinating with owners and General Contractors to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of construction project management experience.
  • 15+ years of strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • 15+ years of ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
  • 15+ years of knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles.
  • 15+ years Business administration and management principles including: operations and financials.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project documentation, pre-planning, hand-off, and setup activities.
  • Monitor financial performance; coach PMs in monthly reviews.
  • Promote and monitor site safety and compliance.
  • Develop client relationships to drive future sales.
  • Recruit and build an effective project team.

Job Description

This individual will provide high‑level project oversight, lead a project management team, set expectations and objectives, and manage all financial aspects of assigned responsibilities. They oversee all financial aspects, planning, and talent development for team members, and develop client relationships that lead to future sales.

Safety
  • Perform site walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Assure site safety compliance by ensuring all safety requirements are performed—this includes site‑specific safety plans, audits, tool‑box talks, pre‑task planning and proficiency in using Industry Safe.
Operations Management
  • Ensure the project team manages all project documentation, pre‑planning, project hand‑off, prefab, job set‑up, policies, procedures, schedules, resources, etc.
  • Monitor and oversee project financial performance. Coach and advise PMs and Superintendents in preparation for monthly reviews and attend PM reviews.
  • Monitor, encourage and promote safety on projects.
  • Improve the success of negotiating changes on a given project by coaching, advising and leading team members through the process. Attend negotiations as needed.
  • Oversee and/or perform pre‑construction activities.
Leadership
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members.
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders to plan for workforce needs that support and drive the project.
  • Coach and manage performance and goals for the team. Motivate and inspire the team to achieve and surpass goals.
  • Build and cultivate an effective team to support and drive business goals/objectives.
  • Recruit and interview candidates to build an effective team.
Strategic Planning
  • Develop, lead and support strategic initiatives for the group, division and/or company.
  • Actively participate in various corporate strategic initiatives as assigned.
Cost Estimation
  • Oversee and/or perform estimation process for project requirements and scope changes ensuring the team coordinates with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Oversee and/or assist/prepare scope/proposal letter.
Financial Management
  • Oversee and ensure assigned projects are meeting financial objectives, are tracked, monitored and reported on a regular basis. Responsibilities include labor productivity, weekly PDCA, risk management, communications, purchasing, billings, collection issues, PM reviews, etc.
Relationships & Sales
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients (Owners and General Contractors).
  • Actively participate in industry associations and networking events.
Manage Sales Process
  • Establish industry relationships to ensure project sales growth in the future.
  • Attend customer outings and events.
  • Communicate company interest and capabilities to potential customers for future projects and/or change orders.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for assigned team proposals, including estimating and proposal writing.
Other Tasks & Duties
  • Other tasks and duties may be necessary due to project specific conditions, and as directed.
Qualifications
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • 15+ years of construction Project Management experience.
  • 15+ years of strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • 15+ years of ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
  • 15+ years of knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles.
  • 15+ years Business administration and management principles including:

Pay Range

$122,166.71 – $228,882.50 (actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location).
