Job summary

NexTech Professional Services seeks a Project Executive to provide high-level leadership for multiple commercial construction projects from conception through completion. You will set objectives, optimize resources, monitor schedule and budget, and resolve issues to ensure successful delivery and strong client outcomes.

You will lead project teams, drive client satisfaction, monitor financial performance, and maintain project controls while coordinating with stakeholders and vendors.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Construction Engineering preferred or a BS in Engineering with relevant experience.
• 10+ years of commercial construction experience preferred, with leadership capability and track record of delivering projects.
• Design-phase experience coordinating with architects/engineers and managing related scope, schedule, and budget.
• Estimating experience, including conceptual estimating and budget development, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Lead and mentor project teams (PMs, PEs, superintendents), setting performance expectations and staffing plans across jobs.
• Drive client satisfaction and repeat business through proactive communication, issue resolution, and on-time delivery of commitments.
• Monitor project financial performance and implement corrective actions to protect margin and reduce risk.
• Establish and maintain project controls, reporting cadence, documentation practices, and milestone accountability.
• Partner with preconstruction/estimating to support pursuits, review budgets and schedules, and ensure smooth handoff from award to execution.
• Oversee long-term planning for upcoming commercial work, including pipeline visibility and staffing projections.
• Collaborate with owners, architects/engineers, trade partners, and vendors to resolve escalations and maintain strong relationships.

Project Executive

The Role

We are seeking a Project Executive to provide high-level leadership and oversight for multiple commercial construction projects from conception through completion. This role will be expected to set project objectives, optimize resources, monitor schedule and budget performance, and step in to resolve issues to ensure successful delivery and strong client outcomes. The Project Executive will work closely with project managers and project teams while regularly engaging stakeholders, organizational leaders, vendors/suppliers, and external clients.

What you will accomplish

• Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Lead and mentor project teams (PMs, PEs, superintendents), setting clear performance expectations and supporting staffing/resource planning across jobs.
• Drive client satisfaction and repeat business through proactive communication, issue resolution, and consistent delivery of project commitments.
• Monitor project financial performance (cost reports, forecasts, change management) and implement corrective actions to protect margin and reduce risk.
• Establish and maintain project controls and standards, including reporting cadence, documentation practices, and accountability for milestones.
• Partner with preconstruction/estimating to support pursuits, review budgets and schedules, and ensure smooth handoff from award to execution.
• Oversee long-term planning for upcoming commercial work, including pipeline visibility, staffing projections, and readiness for future projects.
• Collaborate with internal leadership and external stakeholders (owners, architects/engineers, trade partners, vendors) to resolve escalations and maintain strong working relationships.

What we would like you to have

• BS or MS in Construction Engineering preferred or a BS in Engineering with relevant experience.
• 10+ years of commercial construction experience preferred, with strong leadership/management capability and a track record of delivering projects successfully.
• Design-phase experience is required, including coordination with architects/engineers and managing design-related scope, schedule, and budget impacts.
• Estimating experience, including conceptual estimating and budget development, is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, and Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain connections with current and prospective commercial clients.
