Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Manager responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects. This role ensures accurate documentation, financial control, and effective communication with all stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience in commercial construction and a strong background in project management. Overview

The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of assigned commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate documentation, financial control, schedule adherence, and effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, owners, and designers. This role supports project execution from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining our client’s standards for safety, quality, and profitability.

What you will be doing.....

  • Review and document project information consistently for commercial construction projects, including subcontracts, purchase orders, and approval of payable statements.
  • Track and document all project changes and correspondence, including RFIs, submittals, ASIs, change orders, emails, and written communications.
  • Monitor and control buyout progress and monthly cost reports to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure profit objectives are achieved by maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates for new commercial construction project opportunities.
  • Communicate with owners and design professionals regarding upcoming and potential commercial projects.
Field & Operational Support
  • Communicate long-term commercial project schedules to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist Superintendents in clearly and promptly communicating safety requirements and project changes on active job sites.
  • Monitor material deliveries to commercial job sites and ensure the procurement process is continuously expedited to support project timelines.
  • Support and strengthen customer relationships by balancing our client’s business objectives with owner expectations for schedule, quality, and cost.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each commercial construction project by reviewing plans, specifications, contract documents, and cost information.
  • Plan proactively by creating comprehensive project completion plans, establishing priorities, scheduling activities, defining milestones, and assigning responsibilities to the project team.
  • Produce clear and timely project documentation, including detailed owner meeting minutes and look-ahead schedules.
Skills you bring to the table.....
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in a project management or supervisory role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor employees through complex challenges.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Timberline software is a plus.
