Job summary

MCL Construction in Omaha, NE is seeking a Project Executive to own outcomes for the portfolio, clients, and project teams. The role leads multiple commercial projects with accountability for safety, scope, and budget while guiding strategy with senior leadership.

The successful candidate has a Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Engineering, 10+ years in commercial construction, and 5+ years as a PM with full accountability. Client development and pursuit leadership are essential.

• Track record of client development and repeat work
• Comfortable leading pursuits, proposals, and presentations in front of owners and decision-makers
• Familiarity with CMAR, Design-Build, GMP and IPD

Responsibilities

• Own the portfolio — multiple commercial projects, delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, to MCL standard, no exceptions
• Lead full-cycle — preconstruction through closeout, as the senior point of accountability
• Make the tough calls — on risk, resources, and people, and live with the outcomes
• Control the numbers — cost, resource allocation, and margin across your portfolio
• Build the bench — mentor PMs and superintendents into leaders who keep winning work
• Grow the relationships — client relationships that generate repeat work and referrals
• Win the work — lead pursuits, proposals, and interviews as the leader clients want
• Your portfolio runs on schedule and on budget, with no surprises reaching leadership late
• At least one client relationship has already turned into repeat or referred work
• Leadership trusts your read on risk enough to bring you into pursuits and strategy early

Most PMs manage projects. A Project Executive shapes them — the teams, the clients, the outcomes, and the direction of the company. We're looking for someone strategic, relationship-driven, and relentlessly accountable — a leader who raises the ceiling for everyone around them.

This position is based in Omaha, NE and requires working on-site. We're looking for candidates local to the area or willing to relocate; relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate

• Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering, plus 10+ years in commercial construction, including 5+ as a PM with full project accountability.
• A track record of client development — you generate repeat work because clients trust you.
• Comfortable leading pursuits, proposals, and presentations in front of owners and decision-makers.
• Deep familiarity with CMAR, Design-Build, GMP, and IPD — and the judgment to know which fits.
• Advanced leadership skills, exceptional communication, and strong project management / MS Office proficiency.
