Job summary

The Procopio Companies seeks a Project Executive to oversee a portfolio of large construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will lead cross-functional teams, ensure safety, schedule, budget and quality, and maintain relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Reporting to executive leadership, you will mentor Project Managers and Superintendents, manage financial performance, review budgets and forecasts, approve major changes, and drive

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
  • 15–20+ years of progressive construction management experience.
  • Experience managing large commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use projects.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple project teams simultaneously.
  • Strong financial and contract management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Provide direction throughout preconstruction, construction, and project closeout.
  • Ensure projects meet financial, operational, and quality objectives.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve complex project issues and escalate decisions when appropriate.
  • Maintain accountability for project profitability and financial performance.
  • Review project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow.
  • Approve major change orders and contract modifications.
  • Monitor labor productivity and financial trends across projects.
  • Partner with finance and accounting on forecasting and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary contact for key clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Participate in business development, interviews, and proposal presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
  • Develop future leaders through coaching and performance management.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support hiring, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote best practices across scheduling, procurement, quality control, and project execution.
  • Drive consistency in project delivery processes.
  • Support implementation of technology and operational improvements.
  • Review contracts and identify commercial risks.
  • Partner with legal and executive leadership on dispute resolution.
  • Monitor insurance, claims, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure documentation supports contractual obligations.
