Job summary

The Hagerman Group is seeking an experienced Project Executive to oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring budget, schedule, and quality targets are met. You will manage contracts, lead project teams, and maintain strong client relationships on complex builds.

This onsite, full-time role in Fishers, Indiana, emphasizes collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, and trade contractors.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • 19+ years of progressive construction experience; 5+ years in customer-facing A/E/C roles.
  • Proficiency with PM software (Procore) and CMiC; strong MS Office; understanding cost spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contract development and strategy discussions with Operations and Business Development.
  • Oversee design-build and lease-back/development projects.
  • Manage client negotiations, fee structures, and contract terms.
  • Supervise pre-construction activities: estimating, constructability, value analysis, bidding, and coordination.
  • Oversee construction phase for budget, schedule, safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor job costs, Timberline reports, and staffing projections.
  • Conduct monthly project team meetings and 60-day close-out procedures.
  • Support business development through proposals, presentations, and interviews.
  • Mentor project teams and ensure compliance with safety programs.

Job Summary:
The Project Executive will be responsible for overseeing assigned construction projects to successful completion within established budget, time, and quality standards. Responsibilities include leading contract administration, monitoring project execution, directing and coaching project teams, and maintaining strong client relationships. Working independently to achieve measurable objectives, the Project Executive will manage budgets and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners including owners, architects, engineers, and trade contractors.

Location:Full-time, onsite. This is not a remote position.

Project Executive Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume leadership in contract development opportunities, coordinate with Operations and Business Development leadership for resource assignments, and participate in strategy meetings to determine procurement approaches, intelligence needs, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to market intelligence gathering and take the lead in executing strategy for Design-Build projects and lease-back/development opportunities.
  • Provide leadership in business development efforts by contributing to writing assignments, reviewing proposals, presentations, and interviews, and ensuring the overall quality of final deliverables.
  • Lead client contract negotiations, including review of contract terms, development of Effort Schedules, and establishing fee structures with team approval.
  • Manage pre-construction services for assigned projects and provide oversight where led by Contract Managers, including estimating, constructability reviews, value analysis, bidding/awards, and coordination with Owners and Architects.
  • Provide oversight of construction phase activities on CM projects to ensure budget, schedule, safety, quality, and client satisfaction goals are achieved; oversee QA/QC, monitor schedule achievement, and enforce corporate safety policies.
  • Monitor job cost and Timberline reports to ensure compliance with budgets, contingency use, staffing projections, and profit stability.
  • Conduct monthly Project Team meetings, attend periodic Owner-Architect meetings, and ensure completion of 60-Day Close Out Procedures, including final team reviews.
  • Promote and monitor corporate Health and Safety programs, participate in interviews, cultivate new client/vendor relationships, and ensure timely updates to the business development database.
  • Review project personnel performance, identify strengths and weaknesses, and support development actions while performing other project management tasks as requested.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 19 years of progressive construction experience, typically as Project Manager, Sr. Project Manager, or related role, including at least 5 years of customer-facing experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • BA/BS/AS or other accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience.
  • Proven ability to manage the RFQ/RFP process and successfully collaborate across office locations.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and presentation skills; strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license or obtain within 6 months.
  • Proficiency with PM software (Procore preferred), Microsoft Suite, and accounting software (CMiC preferred), with ability to understand cost spreadsheets, aging reports, and labor productivity reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in contract administration, RFIs, Schedules of Values, monthly billings, and preparation of bar chart schedules (predecessors, successors, constraints, float, lags).
  • Working knowledge of AIA Contracts: A401, A121, and A111.
