Job summary

Pengate Handling Systems, Inc. is seeking a Project Estimator in York, PA to develop accurate cost estimates for material handling and automation projects. You will collaborate with Sales, Applications Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and external suppliers to validate costs and prepare comprehensive pricing packages.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to interpret technical drawings and equipment specs. Strong Excel and ERP software experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• 2–5 years in estimating, engineering support, project coordination, procurement, or related technical work preferred.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, vendor quotations, or project specifications is a plus.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams is preferred.
• Industrial equipment or material handling familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for material handling, warehouse automation, and integrated systems projects.
• Review customer requirements, layouts, drawings, equipment selections, and scope documentation.
• Estimate equipment, labor, engineering, software, installation, freight, travel, and subcontractor costs.
• Create and maintain internal costing models, databases, and pricing documentation.
• Analyze costs to identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and project teams to obtain pricing and clarify scope.
• Prepare commercial cost summaries, pricing packages, and proposal materials.
• Support internal proposal reviews and ensure profitability alignment.
