Job summary

Pengate Handling Systems, Inc. in Chalfont, PA is seeking a Project Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates and competitive proposals for material handling and automation projects.

You will work closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and external suppliers to capture requirements and build pricing packages. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
• 2–5 years in estimating, engineering support, procurement, or related technical environment.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, equipment selections, or vendor quotes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for material handling and automation projects.
• Review customer requirements, layouts, drawings, and scope documentation.
• Estimate equipment, labor, engineering, software, installation, freight, and subcontractor costs.
• Create and maintain costing models, tools, and pricing databases.
• Analyze costs to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations on proposals.
• Support project handoffs to Operations and Project Management.
