Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to join a client in the commercial construction industry in Tampa, FL. The role leads preconstruction and project execution with emphasis on acoustical ceilings, wall panels, and related interior finishes.

The ideal candidate will prepare quantity takeoffs, develop accurate estimates, evaluate pricing, and assemble bid packages, coordinating closely with field teams. Strong estimating skills and collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in estimating and/or project management for commercial construction
• Experience with acoustical ceiling systems and related interiors
• Ability to read architectural drawings, RCPs, specs and construction documents
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and bid preparation
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relations
• Knowledge of change orders, contract administration, and cost controls
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, OnCenter, QuickBid, BuzzBid
• Ability to conduct site visits and coordinate with field operations teams
• Strong estimating background in a production environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Team-oriented with ability to work in a close-knit office
• Stable work history showing progression

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction and project execution for acoustical ceilings and interior finishes
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate estimates
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing and assemble complete bid packages
• Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, change orders, and contract administration after award
• Coordinate with field teams, review submittals and shop drawings, track costs
• Ensure safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of estimating and/or project management experience in commercial construction
• Experience with acoustical ceiling systems, specialty ceilings, ceiling grids, wall panels, and related interior systems
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), specifications, and construction documents
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and bid preparation
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships
• Knowledge of change order management, contract administration, and project cost controls
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanGrid, OnCenter, QuickBid, BuzzBid, or similar estimating software

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Armstrong, USG, CertainTeed, Rockfon, Hunter Douglas, or other acoustical ceiling manufacturers
• Experience with specialty interior scopes including wood ceilings, wood wall panels, glass systems, access flooring, and column covers
• Experience with drywall, metal stud framing, acoustical wall panels, and specialty ceiling systems
• Experience working for specialty subcontractors focused on ceilings and architectural interior finishes
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience managing healthcare, education, government, hospitality, mixed-use, or large commercial projects
• Candidates who can step into projects with minimal ramp-up time
• Experience mentoring junior team members or supporting long-term branch growth initiatives
