Job summary

Acadian Total Security in Lafayette, LA is seeking a full-time Project Estimator to support the sales team with design and quoting for fire/life-safety systems. The role includes preparing proposals, attending pre-bid reviews, and coordinating with customers, engineers, and regulatory authorities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, PC literacy (Word/Excel), and strong organizational skills with the ability to read drawings and NFPA codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be PC literate with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications (electrical, network, control wiring).
• Knowledge of local and national NFPA fire alarm codes.
• Technical experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry preferred.
• Previous sales experience in the security industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize sales tools to provide Accurate System Designs and Quotes.
• Assist Sales Team with Product Updates and Compatibility.
• Provide on time bids and proposals at local branch to meet survey/quote timeframes.
• Facilitate and attend pre-bid project reviews.
• Provide project documentation including scope of work, drawings, specifications, contacts.
• Design and submit fire projects to the Fire Marshal's Office.
• Report daily activities and project performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Acadian Total Security has an immediate opening for a full-time Project Estimator to join their team in Lafayette, LA.

• Utilize applicable sales tools effectively to provide Accurate System Designs and Quotes (WeSuite, Sedona, BlueBeam, Etc).
• Assist the Sales Team with Products Updates and Compatibility.
• Provide on time, bid and Proposals at a local branch level to meet Regional/National Accounts survey/Quote request timeframes.
• Facilitate and attend pre-bid project reviews.
• Provide all necessary project documentation, including scope of work, drawings, applicable specifications, applications-engineered drawings, project contacts, etc.
• Design & Submit Fire Projects to the Fire Marshal's Office.
• Report on daily activities and performance of each project.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be PC literate with some familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of industry applications; ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams.
• Knowledgeable in local and national (NFPA) fire alarm codes and regulations.
• Technical experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry preferred.
• Previous sales experience in the security industry preferred.
