Job summary

Project Estimator

Wylander, a recruiting company specializing in disaster restoration, is hiring a Project Estimator for a full-service restoration company in Elyria, OH

Project Estimator Compensation and Benefits:

• Base pay: $65,000 plus (DOE)

The Project Estimator is responsible for reviewing virtual property damage images, photographs, measurements, and supporting documentation to develop accurate reconstruction estimates using Xactimate. This is an office-based position; all estimates are prepared from virtual images and documentation, with no site inspections or property visits required. The Estimator works with insurance carrier representatives to agree on scope and communicates any challenges that may affect project schedules or budgets to the Project Manager.

Project Estimator Responsibilities:

• Use Xactimate software to prepare estimates for residential and commercial water, fire, wind, and mold restoration projects, including reconstruction, based on virtual images and documentation
• Review virtual photographs, measurements, and supporting documentation to identify damage, determine scope, and request additional information when needed
• Submit final scopes and invoicing documentation for restoration services to insurance carriers
• Handle estimating inquiries for the team and provide a high level of problem-resolution and technical assistance
• Submit accurate estimates in a timely manner according to company requirements
• Maintain effective communication with project teams, clients, insurance adjusters, and claim representatives

Project Estimator Requirements:

• 4+ years’ experience as a Project Estimator within the industry
• Possess a strong construction background and be able to communicate with insurance adjusters and representatives who may have limited construction knowledge
• Must have residential reconstruction estimating experience and be comfortable estimating solely from virtual images and documentation
• Xactimate proficiency is required
• Possess exceptional organizational and planning skills (a detail-oriented person)
• Ability to recognize and solve problems independently
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, responsible and accountable
