Job description

Position Description

The Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for moderate to complex project planning and execution for various business opportunities. This corporate position oversees projects across all Refresco facilities within the assigned region, managing resources, timelines, and budgets while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Essential Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, GMPs and wear the required PPE while in the warehouse or production areas (hairnets, hearing protection, hard toe shoes, safety gloves, seatbelts on forklifts).
  • Maintain food quality and safety standards per corporate, customer, and governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
  • Execute medium to large scale projects, including line upgrades, process upgrades, new marketing initiatives, and building extensions.
  • Develop regional budgets, draft projects, manage suppliers and execute schedules.
  • Assist Plant Managers in developing capital budgets.
  • Communicate with all departments to guarantee efficient project execution.
  • Provide technical support across the company and solutions as needed.
  • Maintain pertinent engineering documents for all plants.
  • Drive equipment and line performance optimization by analyzing production data to identify true operating limits and eliminate chronic losses.
  • Lead RCFA on major downtime events and recurring issues to implement permanent, system-level corrective actions.
  • Define and standardize optimal line operating conditions to maximize throughput.
  • Improve maintenance effectiveness by influencing preventive and predictive strategies using asset performance data.
  • Ensure new equipment and capital projects are delivered with a focus on long-term reliability, maintainability, and operational stability.
  • Ensure compliance to OHSA, environmental, and corporate regulatory standards related to projects. Investigate root causes of non‑compliance and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Manage contractors, suppliers, and third‑party resources involved in projects.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and equipment required for projects.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment and support for project goals.

  • Comfortable navigating CAD software to support engineering and maintenance functions; ability to create and modify technical drawings.
  • Understanding of internal and external building designs; ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of equipment assembly, construction, automated equipment, water processing equipment, and maintenance techniques.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of project management experience (preferred, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments).
  • PMP or Lean/Six Sigma certifications (preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in performing complex assignments and providing technical guidance at a journeyman level.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Background in beverage manufacturing, especially canned products (preferred).

Travel Requirements
