Job summary

A. O. Smith Corp. (Lochinvar) is seeking a Project Engineer for the Product Development team to lead design and optimization of water heating products. You will guide a design group, plan projects, and ensure on-time, within-budget execution in a hybrid Lebanon, TN setting.

Responsibilities include developing test programs, validating designs to meet specs, and coordinating with engineering functions to resolve issues while controlling costs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of product development experience in water heating or thermal systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of large water heating product development projects.
• Prepare action plans, resource estimates, and cost reports for management.
• Develop test programs and guide lab/CAD personnel in testing.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Coordinate engineering activities to resolve design and test issues.
• Evaluate design changes and document approvals.
• Interact with other engineering staff to leverage expertise.
• Monitor project budgets and travel for certification and field support.
