Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation in Lebanon, TN is seeking an Engineer to act as the key contact for resolving product issues, initiating design and BOM changes, and leading cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. This hybrid role blends design, testing, and factory support across product families.

The engineer will participate in data collection and analysis from tests to ensure design requirements are met, collaborating with product, process, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 3 months of related work experience.
• Familiar with CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Minitab, EES, CFD or FEA.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced engineering tasks under supervision by a senior engineer.
• Become familiar with industry groups and patent/trade secret processes.
• Complete engineering assignments requiring broad knowledge in an engineering specialty.
• Analyze production methods to ensure time and cost goals are met.
• Support engineering functions for a product or product family from design through production.
• Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues in engineering.
