Job summary

CoVolt Power seeks a hands-on Project Coordinator/Manager for Texas-based solar projects. The role operates 100% on site, reporting to the Operations department.

You will assist the Project Manager from notice to proceed through client acceptance, coordinate with Estimating during pre-bid, and plan execution while maintaining budget and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in construction management or related field.
  • Knowledge of IFC drawings and job specs for civil/electrical work.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and cost-tracking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager on solar energy projects from notice to proceed through final acceptance by client.
  • Works with Estimating during pre-bid/buyout to address field needs.
  • Solve problems through face-to-face communication and issue resolution.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate all activities for project execution as a personal business.
  • Participate in conceptual development/estimating and aid in organization, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Support project administration to ensure construction meets design, budget, and schedule.
  • Contract administration, schedule management, preparation of spreadsheets & reports, budget & cost reports, risk management, safety, and quality control.

Department: Operations


Works closely with: Construction Manager, Superintendents, Owners, Estimators, Pre-Construction, Engineers, Sub-Contractors


Location: Texas - 100% Project Site based role


Activities/Responsibilities/Duties


  • Assist Project Manager on solar energy projects from initial notice to proceed through final acceptance by client.

  • Works with the Estimating department during the pre-bid and buyout stage of each project to ensure that the needs of the field staff are being addressed.

  • Constantly solves problems and resolves issues through face to face and personal communication.

  • Help plan, lead, and coordinate all activities associated with the overall execution of a project as if it is a personal business.

  • Participate in the conceptual development/estimating of the project and aid in its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

  • Support project administration to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.

  • Specific duties include, but are not limited to, contract administration, schedule management, preparation of spreadsheets & reports, maintaining budget & cost reports, financial analysis, investigation of non-conformance issues and implementation of corrective measures, risk management, safety, and quality control.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Basic knowledge of technical, administration, and management of all phases of project management.

  • Basic knowledge of public and construction safety and security issues and regulations.

  • Excellent mathematical skills, including application, and use in problem solving.

  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply IFC drawings and job specifications for civil and electrical work.

  • Ability to lead and manage own time.

  • Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell when something is wrong; able to revise and adapt as necessary.

  • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and reasoning skills.

  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and independently.

  • Computer literacy and proficiency using Viewpoint, MS Project, and MS Office.


Education/Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or related area.


Certificates / Licenses


  • OSHA 10 Hour Minimum, SWPPP Training
