Job summary

Cornerstone Detention Products seeks a Project Engineer to prepare and coordinate submittals, review drawings, and manage RFIs. You will develop schedules and support procurement while ensuring compliance and timely project closeout.

The role requires reading drawings, strong communication, and organizational skills, with experience in coordinating across clients, suppliers, and subcontractors in an office-based environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of project engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Experience preparing submittals and coordinating project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate project submittals and approval packages.
• Interpret construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Create and manage RFIs to clarify project requirements.
• Develop and maintain hardware, furniture, accessory, and glass schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
• Review supplier drawings and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Generate bills of materials and assist with procurement activities.
• Support change order documentation and project reporting.
• Maintain project records, closeout documentation, warranties, and O&M manuals.
• Ensure timely communication of project issues, risks, and status updates.
• Assist with engineering drawings and special project requirements.
