Job summary

Cornerstone Detention Products is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer for our Construction Division in Alabama. You will own the submittal process, preparing and coordinating approval packages to turn drawings and specs into fabrication-ready materials.

Work with PMs, architects, customers, suppliers and subcontractors to build strong supplier partnerships. You will develop schedules, review drawings for accuracy, create RFIs, and ensure on-time submissions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction project engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Clear written and verbal communication with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, internet).

Responsibilities

• Prepare job-specific approval submittals showing proposed products and installation methods clearly.
• Develop hardware, furniture, accessory and glass schedules, plus hardware templates and keying packages.
• Review supplier and subcontractor drawings for accuracy and spec compliance before customer submission.
• Create and review RFIs to clarify architect’s intent and assess cost and schedule impacts.
