Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings in Texas is seeking a Project Engineer to support execution of structural steel and related building scopes for mission-critical projects, including large-scale data center developments.

You will coordinate technical deliverables, track progress, and align engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction activities while growing toward broader responsibilities in future leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience supporting structural steel projects in industrial or data center environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of steel detailing, fabrication, erection, and related building systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a robust document control process for drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals across design, fabrication and field execution.
• Perform accurate cost estimating and quantity takeoffs for structural steel components, materials, and labor.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues during design development, fabrication, erection, and commissioning.
• Support project scheduling by analyzing critical path timelines, dependencies, and resource requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation meeting data center standards.
• Contribute to process improvements by researching new tools and methods in steel engineering and construction.
• Travel up to 25% of the time
