Job summary

TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer (Structural & Restoration) in Fort Myers, FL. The role focuses on analysis/design for new and existing structures, forensics, and coordination with multiple project stakeholders.

The position emphasizes development opportunities, with growth potential as skills and capabilities advance. ABET-accredited degree, FE/EIT certification, and 0–2 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
• Master’s degree with structural emphasis is preferred.
• Must have passed the FE exam and hold EIT certification.
• 0–2 years of project engineering experience.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Working knowledge of engineering software such as STAAD, RISA, ETABS, ADAPT, SAFE, Ram Structural System, Enercalc, AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing analysis and design for new or existing structures.
• Preparing plans, specifications and bid documents.
• Field work including forensic evaluations on existing buildings.
• Writing technical reports.
• Coordination with clients (architects, other engineers, general contractors, property managers and condo associations).

The Project Engineer (Structural & Restoration) primarily performs engineering tasks and assists with project management throughout the project cycle from initial forensics / schematics through to construction. Projects include a wide variety of building types such as hospitals, condominiums, schools, government facilities and commercial offices

This position is rooted in structural engineering with a varying balance of work on new structures and the restoration of existing structures and building envelopes.

Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:

• Performing analysis and design for new or existing structures
• Preparing plans, specifications and bid documents
• Field work including forensic evaluations on existing buildings
• Writing technical reports
• Coordination with clients (architects, other engineers, general contractors, property managers and condo associations)
• Construction administration including review of shop drawings, responding to contractor requests for information, field observations and pay application review

An essential part of this role is working as part of a project team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines, while providing quality control and quality assurance to ensure these deliverables are on-time and of a high quality. This position will play a critical role in balancing and maintaining internal team needs with the needs of the client to produce a successful project outcome.
