Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. in Rogers, AR, seeks a full-time Bridge Project Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Structural Business Unit. You will follow established design standards, perform calculations for bridges and related structures, and contribute to drawings and cost estimates.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, Arkansas license preferred, and has ARDOT/Arkansas Tollway project experience, strong communication, and MicroStation skills.

Qualifications

• Arkansas structural license preferred
• Experience with ARDOT/Arkansas Tollway bridge projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MicroStation
• Knowledge of structural bridge design software
• Bridge inspection experience (preferred)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

Responsibilities

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Bridge Project Engineer in our Structural Business Unit. This position requires 5+ years of experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Follow Bridge Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager.
• Perform and check structural engineering calculations of bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation infrastructure structures using company, client, and industry standards.
• Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.
• Develop and check cost estimates.
• Participate in the preparation of reports and studies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Licensed Structural Engineer in Arkansas (preferred)
• Experience with design and detailing of ARDOT or Arkansas Tollway bridge projects (firm requirement)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MicroStation
• Knowledge of Structural Bridge Design Software
• Previous bridge inspection experience (preferred)
• Ability to traverse structural sites, including heights and rough terrain
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

SALARY RANGE:

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $95,000 - $140,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
