Job Description

Join our dynamic AECOM team as a Project Engineer working on innovative projects with clients such asSpace Florida, NASA, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the Federal Aviation Administration.We are seeking a talented a Project Engineer to join our team in Titusville/Melbourne, FL, designing and overseeing civil infrastructure spaceport projects. This role involves leading spaceport civil engineering designs from conception through construction. Projects encompass a diverse range of infrastructure, including transportation systems, horizontal launch facilities, airfields, launch complexes, payload processing, buildings, utilities, and commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide limited technical direction to in-house staff and sub-consultants.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures, including field investigations and research.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the guidance of an experienced engineer
  • Coordinate and communicate project activities across departments and divisions
  • Assist in the development of presentations and report submittals.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules.
  • Propose engineering approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve problems.
  • Conduct basic engineering design tasks (conceptual, layout, and detail) and assist with detailed design work.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with four years of related civil engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience in civil engineering design.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License for visiting project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • US Citizenship is required due to nature of work involved.

Preferred:

  • Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Building Information Modeling (Revit), Bluebeam, or similar applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint.
  • Experience in civil engineering design through construction phase
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within 12 months.
  • Experience with Federal, NASA, or similar government agency infrastructure projects.
