Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of civil construction experience.
• Understanding of site development, utilities, pipe installation, grading, drainage, earthworks.
• Experience with project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, change orders.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork with field teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Interest in growing into a Project Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of site civil projects.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control.
• Coordinate with field operations to ensure safe, efficient work.
• Manage project documentation: RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports.
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Help ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality.

A well-established and growing heavy civil contractor is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join its private development division. This team delivers a diverse portfolio of site development projects and is looking for an ambitious professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their career in civil construction.

As a Project Engineer, you'll support the successful delivery of site civil construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams, you'll help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

What We're Looking For

• 1-2+ years of experience in civil construction, preferably in a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager role
• Strong understanding of Site development, Utilities, Pipe installation, Grading, Drainage, Earthworks
• Experience assisting with project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with field teams, clients, and subcontractors
• A team-oriented mindset with a desire to develop into a Project Manager role
