IAPMO in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Engineer – Site Civil Construction to support the delivery of site civil projects from pre-construction through completion. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

The role emphasizes collaboration, strong organizational skills, and a drive to advance into a Project Manager role within a growing heavy civil contractor.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience in civil construction
• Strong understanding of Site development, Utilities, Pipe installation, Grading, Drainage, Earthworks
• Experience assisting with project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with field teams, clients, and subcontractors
• A team-oriented mindset with a desire to develop into a Project Manager role

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of site civil construction projects
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control
• Coordinate with field operations to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reporting
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

A well-established and growing heavy civil contractor is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join its private development division. This team delivers a diverse portfolio of site development projects and is looking for an ambitious professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their career in civil construction.

As a Project Engineer, you'll support the successful delivery of site civil construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams, you'll help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

What We're Looking For

• 1-2+ years of experience in civil construction, preferably in a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager role
• Strong understanding of Site development, Utilities, Pipe installation, Grading, Drainage, Earthworks
