Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer to lead cross-functional product development for sensor products, driving NPD from concept through production. You will coordinate IPDT and partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Marketing to deliver innovative sensing solutions.

The role requires leading design reviews, serving as the main technical contact for customers, and ensuring technical and cost targets are met. Travel up to 20% is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering with a related degree or equivalent.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver engineering projects and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead New Product Development projects from launch through production.
  • Deliver all milestones, including hardware, testing, analysis and documentation.
  • Prepare design and analysis reports and lead design reviews.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers on assigned projects.
  • Review drawings, apply GD&T understanding, ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and implement standard design practices based on lessons learned.
  • Clarify customer requirements and align with internal teams on targets.
  • Meet cost targets and support cost planning with the Development Team.
  • Define and maintain technical compliance to customer requirements.
  • Write technical proposals and present information to customers.
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives and track progress.
  • Support resolution of field issues; provide factory support as needed.
  • Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
