Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA, with expertise in construction management (CM), construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks a Construction Project Engineer to support a team of facilities and construction professionals for a high-profile Government client in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate would have at least 10 years of experience in construction management, deep knowledge of building systems, and experience working in a Government setting.

Qualifications & Skills
  • A minimum of 7 years of construction management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Relevant certifications such as those from the American Society of Interior Designers, American Institute of Architects, or other A/E/C organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for field and office personnel.
  • Experience managing complex new construction or renovation projects in a commercial environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Knowledge of building systems including MEP, interior finishes, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
  • Experience with estimating, scheduling, and tracking project performance.
  • Experience working in a federal government setting.
  • Experience with leased office space is preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Manage interior improvements as part of a team supporting a Government client.
  • Manage architectural and engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors to meet project goals.
  • Develop and manage project schedules using MS Project or similar software.
  • Support building management services including space management, facilities and equipment maintenance, energy conservation, and system furniture planning and installation.
  • Ensure contractor performance complies with OSHA standards and quality guidelines.
  • Oversee project design or construction, including risk management, security, and safety compliance.
  • Review construction submittals and contract documents thoroughly.
  • Handle project and contract administration, including records management.
