Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Project Engineer within the GES Global Engineering Services division, based at Abbott Park/US locations. This role provides PMO support, governance, and risk management for capital projects across Abbott and GES, enabling on-time delivery and continuous process improvements.

The position requires an engineering or scientific background, strong Excel/PowerPoint/Project skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, science, or closely related discipline; 3+ years engineering/operational experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 tools.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Effective presentations, reports, and stakeholder communication.
• Technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Collaborates well with engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• PMO Governance and Project Support across Abbott divisions and GES; maintain project docs, reporting, and governance artifacts.
• Risk management and Front-End Planning, including risk assessments and PDRI coordination.
• Process improvements and knowledge management; maintain PMO resources and documentation.
• Capital planning support; assist data collection and portfolio reporting.
• Apply engineering and project management knowledge to support complex projects and governance improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Abbott standards, EHS&Es requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
