Job summary

Abbott Park, IL—The Project Engineer within the GES division provides PMO support for capital project teams across Abbott and Global Engineering Services, applying engineering knowledge, project management principles, and strong communication to deliver projects through their lifecycle.

You will develop project controls, dashboards, and governance tools, facilitate front-end planning and risk assessments, and help drive continuous improvement across capital programs while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field
• 3+ years engineering/operational experience
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 tools
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Excellent presentation and reporting capabilities

Responsibilities

• PMO Governance and Project Support: provide PMO support, governance, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination
• Risk Management and Front-End Planning: coordinate risk assessments, FEP, and opportunity management
• Process Improvements and Knowledge Management: develop PMO processes, templates, and knowledge resources
• Capital Planning Support: assist RCE processes, data analysis, and portfolio reporting
• Technical and Innovation: apply engineering and PM knowledge to improve delivery and governance
• Compliance: ensure adherence to standards, EHS&E, and regulatory requirements
