Job summary

J.C. Higgins Corp. in Massachusetts is seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Engineer to support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and tracking construction activities.

You will help manage schedules, budgets, and procurement, and assist with field problem resolution to keep projects on track. You will participate in meetings, review documents, ensure proper data is captured in the project controls system, and collaborate with foremen and subcontractors to align on values, schedules,

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in driving project schedule flow from inception to completion
• Review contract/bid documents and understand scope for project turnover
• Assist with document control: insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders and correspondence
• Ensure documents are centrally saved in the project document control system
• Verify drawings are distributed to field correctly
• Assist with schedule of values/billing formats as required by contract documents
• Support project schedule showing completion and delivery dates; integrate into manpower schedule
• Request POs for major equipment and subs; coordinate delivery notices
• Facilitate material takeoffs by trade foreman
• Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review scheduling and delivery
• Support accounting in monthly billings and collections and follow up on balances
• Collaborate with foreman on project safety (toolbox talks, site walks)
• Gather information for changes in work and turnover to estimating for pricing; PM finalizes CO pricing
• Assist field personnel in project closeout
• Obtain as-builts and CAD from field/engineering
• Escalate critical issues to PM with recommendations
• Comply with company policies and safety programs
• Perform additional assignments as directed by executives
