Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join the National Mission Critical team in Dallas. This role supports the project team by learning Ryan processes and assisting with RFIs, shop drawings, scheduling, and coordination.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Construction Eng/Management, 1+ year in commercial construction, and travel as needed. Procore experience and ability to read drawings will help you grow within a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to execute projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project team in completing designated projects while learning Ryan processes.
  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Learn site logistics and safety policies.
  • Coordinate and track vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.
  • Accompany on punchlist inspections and record items.

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our National Mission Critical team!

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

Some things you can expect to do
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to execute projects.
You will really stand out if you
  • Have general knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Experience in Construction Management Software (i.e. Procore).
  • Design-build commercial construction experience.
