Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC in Boston seeks a Project Engineer to lead survey, design, installation oversight, and commissioning of metering equipment and data gathering hardware. You will oversee contractor work, provide technical support, and drive system commissioning, start-ups, and training.

The role requires a Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering background with experience in control systems, DCS, PLCs, SQL, and VMware in IT/OT environments. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with control systems and/or DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
• PLC and logic programming, configuration, and support experience.
• Experience with databases and SQL queries.
• PC/server configuration experience.
• Thin client systems and/or VMware experience.
• Background in the energy industry.
• Experience working in integrated IT/OT environments with frequent IT personnel collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Commission and start-up utility-grade metering equipment.
• Engineer and design new or modified advanced metering systems to meet customer objectives.
• Review project, equipment, and proposed design plans for specification compliance.
• Conduct on-site surveys and walkthroughs with operating personnel, contractors, and engineering teams.
• Perform lab testing for process troubleshooting and optimization.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously over extended periods.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, and rebuild existing equipment in field environments.
• Prepare technical documentation, procedures, internal memoranda, and reports in a timely manner.
• Oversee contractor work during specific project phases and provide technical support.
