Job summary

Veolia in Boston is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the survey, design, installation oversight, and commissioning of metering equipment and data gathering hardware. You will supervise contractors during critical project phases and provide technical support for build, start-up, and commissioning activities.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical/computer engineering background, PLC/DCS experience, and IT/OT integration expertise, with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience implementing and supporting control systems or DCS.
• PLC programming and logic configuration experience.
• Experience with databases and SQL queries.
• PC/server configuration experience.
• Thin client systems and/or VMware experience.
• Background in the energy industry.
• Experience in IT/OT environments with IT personnel collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Commission and startup utility-grade metering equipment.
• Engineer and design advanced metering systems to meet objectives.
• Review plans for specification compliance.
• Conduct on-site surveys with operating personnel and contractors.
• Perform lab testing for process troubleshooting and optimization.
• Manage multiple projects over extended periods.
• Troubleshoot and rebuild equipment in the field.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports.
• Oversee contractor work during project phases and provide support.
