Job summary

Graycor is seeking a Project Engineer in Charlotte, NC, to join our Engineering Mentoring Program. You will rotate through departments, gaining hands-on project experience and receiving one-on-one coaching to build a successful construction career.

The program typically lasts 24 months, with exposure to project management, controls, estimating, and field coordination across diverse projects, including travel to site locations to develop core competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
• 0-3 years of relevant construction internship or post-undergraduate experience.
• Ability to travel extensively and reside at project sites; travel subsistence pay and incentives may apply.
• Ambition to grow professionally and to learn across multiple project types.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in project control, safety and quality programs.
• Develop and maintain critical path schedules and short-term look‑ahead plans; apply Lean techniques.
• Maintain project documentation; coordinate with Owner, Architect and Engineers.
• Assist in procurement of equipment and materials and track deliveries.
• Track and evaluate subcontractor and vendor performance; interface with contractors on technical/contractual matters.
• Assist in preparation of estimates and bid materials with the Estimator.
