Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced MEP Project Engineer (Licensed PE) to provide mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design services for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities. You will join a multi-discipline team to develop design/construction drawings and specifications.

You will interact with clients, conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare reports, and produce permit submittals while managing multiple projects within time and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with PA PE registration or ability to reciprocity.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical design and HVAC system analysis.
• Ability to work as part of a project team; self-motivated and independently capable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and design services for mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design projects as part of a multi-discipline team.
• Interact with clients, conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare reports, produce design drawings and technical specifications, and prepare permit submittals.

OVERVIEW:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Pittsburgh as a MEP Project Engineer (Licensed PE) to provide technical and design services in support of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.

DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:

• Provides technical and design services in support of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.


• Responsibilities include: ability to interact and work directly with clients, conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare various reports, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications and prepare permit submittals for mechanical engineering projects.


• Responsible for various tasks on several concurrent projects and must be able to follow these tasks through to completion within the allocated period of time and the monetary budget assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with PE registration or ability to quickly acquire PA PE quickly through reciprocity.


• 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design and HVAC system analysis.


• Must be able to work as part of a project team.


• Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments.


• Technically competent, a team player and good communications ability required.


• May or may not require a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
